The Kashmir Lounge is a short tram ride (tram 1 or 17) away from the main area of Amsterdam. It's well worth the journey. I'd have to say that the Kashmir Lounge is the best coffeeshop I've seen! The Kashmir Lounge is a large place, incredibly adorned with eastern style decoration. The staff and clientel are very friendly, they sell great tasting beer, excellent hashish (we didn't try any of their skunk), but most imporantly it is the most comfortable place to be stoned. Where as the majority of coffee shops in Amsterdam have hard, backless stools so as to discourage customers from getting too stoned to move, The Kashmir Lounge has incredibly soft sofas, and cushions everywhere! The word 'Lounge' is definitely appropriate. We lounged, sprawled across cushions. We got so comfortable here, we actually missed our flight back! I kid you not!
