Branden Zand is a new competitor in this year's Cannabis Cup. There is no desert here but this is certainly an Oasis.
A short walk from Haarlemmerplein, this shop is described by their operators as "A neighborhood shop" ...lucky neighborhood!
The shop was completely renovated last year with the assistance of a terrific architect. This is one of the best- designed coffeeshops I have ever seen. Lots of open space and 3 distinct seating areas plus a poolroom. As you enter the first thing you see is a HUGE fish tank at eye level in front of you. This serves as a wall between the balcony area and the poolroom. The stairs leading up to this tank are inlaid with rows of dark blue glass bottle bottoms. On your right as you enter is a curved bar with the front finished in dark blue glass squares. Take the steps down to a cozy seating area of sectional couches with loads of pillows to sink into to or take the stairs up to the tropically decorated Poolroom with a large skylight over the pool table. Whatever your mood, there is an area to suit you and lots to capture your attention. This coffeeshop was well thought out, designed and decorated.
The menu here consists of 10 varieties of grass and 11 varieties of hash. One of their specialties is Bio Haze. At Branden Zand they maintain the same menu and same quality year around. They believe in Quality over Quantity. The coffeeshop is stocked with wonderful Moroccan water pipes for you bong fans out there too. We are fairly confident that you'll enjoy your visit, come see us!
